Changing Profile Pic, Met Menik, Saw A Bitch

Changing my profile picture. Time to get back to looking mischievious instead of looking beautiful. Mwehehehee... Since I put on that picture of me in my beautiful mode, I had ignored more than 150 friend requests, and there are still more than 100 pending friend requests. Weird. They don't even have any friend in common with me. *Sigh*.

I gotta say, I miss hanging out with Kucil and Menik. Just the three of us. We're scattered apart along this Lebaran holiday. Menik went back to her hometown, I went to Bandung, and Kucil was busy with her family stuff and her wedding preparations. But thankfully I and Kucil spent some time together last Sunday. We just hung out at JCo PIM, then moved to Citos to have dinner. We ate at Takigawa and Mama was there too with her family!! Hahaa... What a coincidence.

Anyway, we let Mama had her family time. And we kinda spent the time watching those ot white guys at the table in front of us. One of them got this Indonesian chick. She's tall, looked so byotch, and also scary at the same time. Bitch. Oops... Hell, no! I'm not jealous! I don't envy her, at all. Honest!

My Lebaran 2009 Holiday

Waaah, long time no blog. Hi y'all... Holiday's over. And I still need more days off. I've been having flu for the past week. And I still have it. So, I spent most of my holiday in bed. Well, some of it, anyway. :p

As soon as I got back from Bandung, our family went 'nyekar' to our mom and dad's. This Lebaran somehow felt weird to me. I have no parents. I only have my sibling left, and we went to his parents in law's home again this year. I felt like I had no home. *Sniff*...

At first, I considered to stay at home to have some time for myself. Then I realized how pathetic it seemed. So I decided to go with the family, and I'm not sorry I did. I've had marvellous time with Bangbag. She's such a cute and lovable little girl. Though she could be unbearable sometimes. Hehee... All in all, I got some precious moments, 3 shorts, and a tank top. Not bad, eh? Since I didn't plan to shop either. :)

Then, I went to Dufan with Syd on Friday. If you remember, Syd is my best friend since elementary who now is a permanent resident in Aussie. She's spending her year leave here in Jakarta. That would make it a month, I guess. We had so much fun there. Dufan was crowded, but the queues weren't so bad, really. And we managed to try Tornado, at last. Wheee... I loved it!! Wish to try again next time, when we weren't so hurried.

The next day, I went to PIM with Bangbag, her mom, and my lil bro. We ate at Bakmi GM, then meeting Syd at Gramedia. Oh boy! We went berserk there. After so long not hunting for books, I was like a bird freed from its cage. We also bought some learning books for Bangbag. All in all, we spent more than a million rupiah that day, only at Gramedia. Yippee!!

Okay, time to go home. Happy back to work, everyone... Cheers...

Besok Lebaran. Berarti ntar malem tu malem takbiran.

Ohoho... I really miss you, kiddo. :D

Right, I'll just cut this posting here. Can't wait to get home and get some more rest before the trip tomorrow. Still feel a little dizzy from the hard work these past few days. I'll see you when the holiday's over. And I just wanna say:

Minal aidin wal faidzin
Mohon maaf lahir dan batin
Have a nice holiday to all of you out there
Peace, y'all...

Puteri di Sarang Kampret

Rontok semua badan gue. Fisik lagi digenjot habis2an. Gak tidur dan gak makan mpe 2 hari. Kalo gak tidurnya siy udah 3 hari. Sampe epleng gini. Hiks... Pokoknya rasanya rontok abis deh. Mana gue lupa mulu minum vitamin. Secara udah gak kepikiran juga pas lagi hectic gak mengenal waktu ini.

Para kru cabutan yang berjumlah lebih dari 25 orang semua juga stay di kantor. Udah 2 malemlah. Dan gue cewek satu2nya. Kalo udah gak tahan ngantuk, cuek aja deh gue cari pojok kosong ngejoprok disitu. Sempet tadi kamar tidur kosong, gue langsung aja tidur disitu. Gak sampe 2 jam kemudian gue bangun, di sekitar gue udah bergelatakan para lelaki itu. Hiyaaaahhh!!! Ngantuk gue langsung ilang dan berganti geli. Soalnya mereka pada bau keringet smua. Blom mandi! Gubrak!!

Oh well, risiko kerja bareng laki2, apalagi jadi satu2nya putri di kantor ya gini deh. Jadi punya stok sabun n other toiletries sendiri, monitor stok kopi n kebutuhan dapur juga. *Halah*

Yang penting enjoy ya, cuuuy... Dan setiap event kelar, gue langsung menormalkan diri dengan hang out with Menik dan Kucil. Hahaa...

Maxwell - Softly

Wow wow wow... Kerja rodi cuuy!! And I need another break with Maxwell. To soften my mood. Ha!

SOFTLY - MAXWELL

Steamy like a winter storm
Softer than the sharpest thorn
I held your hand and I was born
So explain your fury and you were never scorned

You made me feel the way I felt
You can do me wrong babe
But make it feel make it feel

Softly Softly show me you care
Easy easy keep me right there
Would you ever if I doubled dared
Hurt me harshly destroy me with care

And make the first slice like I first cut you
Oh baby why you wanna just hurt me like you do

Softly Softly show me you care
Easy easy keep me right there
Would you ever if I doubled dared
Hurt me harshly, destroy me with care

(ohhh..softly baby yeah...)

Steamy like a winter storm
Softer than the sharpest thorn
I held your hand and I was born
Softly Softly destroy me with care

Max, I swear you're a genius! Your songs enrich my life. Totally. Bless you, man!

Maxwell - Luxury: Cococure

Jeez. The neverending job. Shyte...

Getting stressed out. Better take a 5 minute break and listen to this song. Hmm...

LUXURY: COCOCURE - MAXWELL

Took a high from a low
Took my icy freeze and thawed the cold
An inspired undisclosed
It’s a privacy that y’all should know
Never wonder cause I know
Ain’t no other got this flow
Lady lover, lady soul
You’re my discovered pot of gold

I found a cure for this
Cococure for this
It’s got me plushed on some luxurious
Cococure

It’s a happy in a sad
It’s a more that’s less
It’s a glad, drive me crazy (ooh baby)
You’re my mommy, you’re my dad
Lady lover never go
You’re the part of my heart that is soul

Love all his songs from the Embrya album. Aaah... Feeling better already.

Hooked to Farmville

Shiiit... Just started playing Farmville on Facebook. I know I'm such a latecomer in using this application. But damn, I said yes, and now I'm hooked. :'(

So far, I've harvested strawberries, raspberries, eggplants, squash, pumpkins, rice, cherries, and soon to harvest cottons and bellpeppers. Hahaa... I'm focusing on plants, not animals. The animals I have are all gifts from my neighbours. :D

Okay, back to the game now. Uhuuy...

Reading on FP

Maybe I read too much Harlequin or Mills & Boon novels, as well as those romances on Fiction Press. For those who don't know Fiction Press, it's a site containing fiction written by 'amateurs'. But hell, some of them are so good I'd say they should have published their stories. At the moment I'm reading one of xoxluurve's one shots. She's a great writer. She's very coherent and the emotion is really felt. I love her writings. And reading her stories makes me want to write this posting. Getting kinda mellow and blue moods right now. Damn!!

Xoxluurve likes to make her readers curious. She almost always puts us in suspense about what's the relationship between her often unnamed hero and heroine. Sometimes we're lucky if she lets us know at the end of the stories. But there are occasionally some stories that she won't even let us know what their relationships are. But they're still could move the readers. And those are only the one shots. Imagine what the long stories would do to us... Damn, she's good!!

Well, hell... Gonna continue reading now. Moving on to another universe...

Panaass, Cuuy!!!

Wuaaaks... Panas abeessh!! Damn freakin' too waay hot outside!! Aaaaarrrgh!!!

Craving these:

Malaysian Government's Culture Confusion by Chandra Marsono

The following article is copied and pasted from Chandra Marsono's blog, Bilingual Minds. It's a well-researched, comprehensively written article. It's a mind-opener on Indonesia-Malaysia relationship crisis theme. Enjoy...

MALAYSIAN GOVERNMENT'S CULTURE CONFUSION

This is a topic I've long avoided, but it just keeps coming up.
To my friends in Malaysia, please do understand that this is not me being angry at you, not me insulting or giving negative sentiments about you or other Malaysians.
This is directed to the stupid people in your government and tourism board.

Since 2004, before Malaysia launched "Malaysia, Truly Asia", the country intended to boost its tourism revenue. It couldn't compete with Singapore as a mega-polis, even with the world's tallest building in their backyard, so they invested in their diversity, taking advantage of its commonwealth status. Displaying all traditions from around Asia in their country, the country went with the slogan "Malaysia, Truly Asia" that a certain advertising agency came up with.

The campaign was a hit. People liked the idea and made their way to Malaysia for holiday. This success however brought a startling revelation: "What's Malaysia's own traditional culture?"
Yes, this was the question on every tourist's mind. In fact, on a business trip back in 2004, I asked my taxi driver to take me to an authentic Malaysian restaurant, and he took me to this restaurant which main course and specialty was white Tom Yam. If you know me and my epicurious sense, you'd know that I would always ask the servant or anyone working at the restaurant about the food, and they said it was Malay Tom Yam. "Its different!" they said. But it was the same to me.

Does Malaysia have a culture? Sure they do.
One of the negative side of any British occupation is that the British brought in their own culture to the table. Everybody would be speaking English and behave in a British like manner. Unlike India, Australia, & New Zealand, Malaysia was full of spice and controlled by Monarchs. Just like the Mangkunegaran kingdom in Solo, this made it easier for the colonist to infuse the country with the British ways and made sure there is minimum resistance. Many-many tradition which is not suitable to the colonist were made out to rot and disappear.

What makes it different from other British colonials? Well, name me a handful of Malay tribes, heroes or kings that defy the colonialist and is noted as a hero? I went to a lot of museum in KL and found none.

Cultures survived the British Imperialism because of resistance. Cultures exist as a way to unite the people. India have many small tribes and cults that resisted the Imperialism, The Samoans of New Zealand are amazing people who traveled to the Micronesians and Hawaiian islands by small boats, these made them strong to their cultural roots. The Aborigines lived in the most uncomfortable places in Australia which colonialist wouldn't touch, this made their culture survived. Canada and Australia even had to invest millions in research of their culture to get it back.

Malaysia's culture?
Believe me, they had plenty. But now most of it has gone. Only some survived, most came from Borneo which the colonials didn't touch because of the dense jungles and the fierce warriors (BBC Education's : Elizabeth's Kingdom). Yes, this was startling revelation indeed. If the Malaysians continued their Truly Asia campaign without showing that their culture was a majority of the cultures present in their country, they are afraid that people will leave and think less.

A Resolution!
Years back, Malaysia claimed and announced to the world that Satay was part of their culture. They even made it legal by having it copyrighted and claimed as sole owner and creator. Now, how could a food that belonged to many cultures and countries be made into a copyright?? The Japanese have Robatayaki, the Chinese and all the way up to Bali have a dish like it. All meat in a stick. That move made all of those meat on a stick Malaysian. Being a commonwealth, they had great access. The one who made it first official was the Encyclopedia Brittanica in the 90s.
The Malaysian government soon started with food, claiming one by one food that are present in Malaysia as their own.

Now then, if they could do it with food, why not culture?? Who better to take it from? Why their friendly neighborhood cousin across the strait of course. Indonesia has millions of traditions, lets go get some.

At first, I didn't give much thought. Malaysians and the Melayu do share many traits and culture. Still, claiming it as the sole owner of that tradition does bug me a lot. But then they gotgreedy, and absurd.

The Malaysian Government claimed that Angklung is a Malaysian culture. What?!?? That doesn't even make sense. Bamboo instruments that are in the Melayu/Sumatra area resembles nothing like the angklung. After that, batik. Not the motives of Melayu, but the motives of Java. Those motives have historical relevance and how it became that way, but the Malay government still put a copyright on it. After that Reog, Kuda lumping, Jali-jali and the song "rasa sayange" which from a Pangea point of view made it impossible to be connected what-so-ever to the Asian continent, because Maluku was connected to the Papua and Australian plate.

Reog and Kuda Lumping?? Yeah sure, the Malaysian ancestors belived in self whipping, sacrifice, homosexuality and black magic. And then Jali-jali, a song that is closely tied with the Dutch occupation. It gets even absurd...

Pendet. A dance from Bali. There is no dance like this in Java or Sumatra, no way that it would influence upwards (if you study history, cultures spread through Pangaea downwards and evolved individually after the ice age ended and the sea level risen). If any of these tradition are claimed by Malay, it should be present in an almost similar form in either Sumatra or Borneo.
To completely insult us, the Pendet was copyrighted on Indonesia's Independence day.

A Malay artist who is a friend of mine, on his blog posted about Kuda Kepang (Malay's version of Kuda Lumping), about how the tradition was brought by Javanese workers who migrated from Java...

Well lets see here, I don't think the Dutch ever traded slaves with the British. An Indonesian would move out of Indonesia was during the PKI era in the 60s. I don't really see it becoming a tradition unless its out and recognized as a culture. So is Tom Yam a Malay food? I mean, the Thai immigrants brought it in longer before kuda lumping came to Malaysia?

What ever the outcome, over the years this has been a big cause of the degradation of Indonesia-Malaysia relations. Most people here have negative sentiments about Malaysia, and its growing. Malaysians living in Canada with their Anti-Indonesia websites are helping fuel the fire. I just hope the Malaysian people are aware of their governments actions and take a stand to stop it. I really hope the relations between our countries will get better soon.

Once again I apologize to Malaysians everywhere. I didn't mean to offend you, but your government actions on my favorite day of the year, Independence day, offended me. If you have never heard of these tradition, dance, etc, please make it known. Write it in your blog, protest your government. Malaysia has many lost traditions, instead of taking, why not digg those cultures up from the past.

Once again, this is not my writing. I copied and pasted this inspiring article from this blog. Go visit! :)

My New Dentist

Went to the dentist. I'm pretty sure there's a cavity, and yes, turned out that the cavity was too deep already that the dentist needed to fix it a little before giving me the filling. I have to go back there next Thursday. Hmm... Please don't there be anymore problems with my teeth. It's bad enough already. Damn...

But the dentist is a pretty cool guy. He's not scary at all. In fact, he doesn't seem like your typical dentist. He's young, maybe in his early forties, clean looking, collecting postcards which he exhibits on his desk, and the most striking thing about him is his motorcycle hobby. He just lost his Nouvo in a fire last July. And he's still bitter about it. But he's so passionate when telling us his story about it. I swear, he's still bitter about it. Hehee... No offense, doc. :p

Overall, this experience is not so bad. He's an interesting dentist to start with, and he doesn't look scary. So, yeah, he's okay. :D

Apa plagiat di negara lo lagi ngetrend?
Ku tetap sabar tetap kau kuanggap friend
But sooner or later i gotta take my stand

Udah bolak balik sampe balik kebolak
Temen gue sampe keselek pas makan kolak
Lagi lagi berulang ulang terus terjadi
Tetangga bikin ulah lagi bikin sakit hati

Suka ngaku ngaku kagak malu malu
Punya indonesia di klaim satu satu
Apa memang kalian yang gak mampu mampu
Buat budaya sendiri efek gak ampuh ampuh

Baca rambu rambu, bangsaku berbudi luhur
Tapi usik terus, reputasi mu masuk kubur
Jujur gue bangga jujur gue bersyukur
Elo ngaku ngaku berarti progress lo mundur

Panas ku bertutur kreasi bicara
Walau sudah jelas identitas ku dijarah
Joe farizal aja bisa minta maap
Masa yang lain kagak nyadar kagak tanggap

You copy my style
You copy again
Apa plagiat di negara lo lagi ngetrend?
Ku tetap sabar tetap kau kuanggap friend
But sooner or later i gotta take my stand

Bukan mo sok nasionalis sombong mengangkat alis
Bukan mo sok gangster bukan sok sadis
Walau lagi ngetop bukan gue sok ngartis
Tapi bales pake lagu paling praktis

Marah marah di internet, udah pasaran
Ngomel ngomel di pasar kagak sabaran
Kaya cacing kepanasan jenggot kebakaran
Rasanya gatel pengen ngasih tamparan

Tapi gue orang nya cinta damai
Walau rasanya sulit untuk santai
Amunisi di samping nyiur melambai
Pakai musik rap ku siap membantai

Memang satu rumpun masih sama melayu
Tapi melayu saykoji keras dan gak kemayu
Selendang rocker ku agak mendayu
Tapi coba ajak gue battle rap ayuk!!

You copy my style
You copy again
Apa plagiat di negara lo lagi ngetrend?
Ku tetap sabar tetap kau kuanggap friend
But sooner or later i gotta take my stand

Lagunya Saykoji sebagai balasan kepada berbagai klaim Malingsial atas berbagai hak milik Indonesia. Kreatif euy. Salut...

EARTHQUAKE!!

Epicentrum: Tasikmalaya

Magnitude: 7.3 Richter Scale
Start: 02.55 pm
Tsunami Warning

Level 42 - One In A Million

Only one girl in a million

Is the one i'm searching for
And i know that she'll be different
From all i've known before

I have raised my expectations
I have followed every star
And i'll travel every highway
No matter how near, how far

Where is she
Who will be
The fulfilment of my dreams?
Could it be
Fantasy
That may never come to me?

Spent my lifetime searching for the one
And a lifetime's work is never done

But in aiming for perfection
Other hearts have passed me by
It's a lonely road i travel
By building my hopes so high

I've been told
"you're so cold,
Where's the passion, where's the fire?"
Lying in wait
Until fate
Lights the flames of my desire

Spent my lifetime searching for the one
And a lifetime's work is never done
Throw a lifeline if you're close to me
And i'll give you all you'll ever need

I spend my lifetime searching for the one
And a lifetime's work is never done
Throw a lifeline if you're close to me
And i'll give you all you'll ever need

Bee, this song in a way might reflect yourself. Selamat menikmati... :D

Jaycee Lee Dugard

A few days ago, I read about the story of Jaycee Lee Dugard. She was kidnapped on June 10, 1991. She was 11 at the time. Ceritanya luar biasa tragis.
